Hello Loves! 

Lions, tigers, bears, oh my!? No, its just my hair totally crimped out! As many of you know I did a photo shoot this winter that involved completely crimping and brushing out my hair for a Portland salon and boutique, Akari.  It took me a while but I wanted to share their window displays with you!!

Film: Martha Marcy May Marlene

Hello Loves, 

I am sorry guys but its time for one of my lovely movie nerd posts! One thing that I may love just as much as clothes and fashion is film. I have been watching an array of genres since I was super young. I like just about everything but normally tend to prefer movies from the 80's or before. When I do watch a new release it is most likely a bit dark and I have a serious love for independents. 

Ever since I heard about Martha Marcy May Marlene when it premiered at Sundance I have been dying to see it. It was not shown at many theaters so I waited until it came out on DVD. A few weekends ago I finally got a chance to grab it. Let me say that this film was amazing, and Elizabeth Olsen did an absolutely terrific job. She truly is an extraordinary actress. 

The film follows the young adult, Martha as she escapes her existing living arrangements and is reunited with her older sister. Through flashbacks you are given an inside look at what Martha endured in the last few years. 

This film is definitely dark but a must see!

I hope everyone had a great week! I am so happy the weekend is finally near. Sorry I have been behind on posting, I am working 7 days a week and have a few projects in the works, one being a photo shoot next week... more details soon :) 

As all of you probably know Edge of Urge is one of my biggest sources of inspiration. Their ability to combine unique and different clothing into colorful and beautiful outfits is captivating. I am constantly in awe of their photo shoots. Here is a recent one that I just couldn't help sharing!

Safely Minted

Hello loves! 

As all of you have probably noticed the color mint has been huge this year. Mint colored denim has been extremely popular and found in just about every clothing store, but if your like me this might have seemed a bit "too much." Remember guys I live in Maine and sometimes going extremely bold brings more stares than any girl wants to deal with. 

So I put together what I would call a "safely minted" outfit allowing you to play with this fun and vibrant color even if your a little nervous about trying to pull it off.

Pair the mint pants with a neutral colored top, I prefer browns and grays when trying to tone the outfit down.

Flats: Marshall's 

I added a pop of orange with my long gold locket from J. Crew as well as some simple gold bangles. 

Now that I have gotten used to wearing colored denim I am definitely ready to put together some edgier outfits, but this was a great jumping off point.
